Our mission is to provide students at CNUCOM exposure to the world of sports medicine through connections to fellow peers interested in sports medicine and leading physicians in our community while providing engaging hands-on experiences. We organize medical sideline volunteer opportunities for the NorCal Special Olympics, Sacramento Running Association (CIM Marathon), Sacramento Iron Man, and more!
Goals and objectives
Provide opportunities for students to engage with and support athletes in the local community.
Facillitate shadowing, research, and mentorship connections/opportunities with community sports medicine physicians.
Provide a space for students to learn and teach clinical skills in sports coverage, nutrition and hydration, and healthy practices for injury prevention.
