The mission of CNUCOM's chapter of The Latino Medical Student Association is to promote the development and representation of Latina/o/x/e students in medicine and improve healthcare for Latina/o/x/e communities through service, mentorship, education and advocacy.
Goals and objectives for 2024-2025:
To provide a voice for underrepresented medical students.
To actively promote the recruitment and retention of Latino students at all levels.
To educate medical students on Latino health issues.
To advocate for the rights of Latinos in health care.
To provide leadership opportunities for Latinos.
To promote culturally responsive volunteerism in the Latino community.
